Mark, I live in NW Iowa, and I too feel your pain as far as ample paddling resources. Some of the great lesser known spots I have come to enjoy are the Little Sioux River (Linn Grove to The Prairie Heritage Center just South of Peterson) and the Rock River (from Doon down to Rock Valley). I paddle a 10.6′ Dagger Blackwater w/skeg, and my wife paddles a 10.6′ Old Town Dirigo. Hope to see you paddling what Iowa has to offer soon!
